Dell Inspiron 8200 - AS IS for PARTS / REPAIR!

This is a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop that I've had sitting around for a while. From what I can tell it's broken, though I'm not completely sure whats wrong with it. Whenever I press the power button the caps lock light just blinks on and off a few times and then shuts off. About a month before it completely crapped out it would do the blinking routine once a week, and I'd just have to wait a few minutes then press the power button again and everything would be fine. Based on that and a few forums I think the CPU may have overheated, but again not quite sure.

Assuming its the CPU that overheated, there are tons of parts that can be salvaged from this guy

Front loading 6x DVD RW drive
1 GB Ram
15 inch UXGA 1600 x 1200 LCD Screen
Power Cord
Nvidia Geforce 4 440 Go

and well... everything else except the cpu

Also some other stuff to note!!
The bottom has a crack in the plastic, and the headphone jack barely works. Also one of the USB ports is screwy, you have to jiggle it around to get things to connect.

And last but not least I'm taking out the hard drive because I've got tons of school and work stuff on it. NO HARD DRIVE!!! I'll leave the caddy there of course.

Since there's no hard drive I'll throw in an Ubuntu 9.10 disk just in case. It originally came with Windows XP home, product key is still on the bottom.

IT IS BROKEN SO THE ITEM IS BEING SOLD AS-IS!!! No returns!!!
