The King's American Regiment was made up of New York Loyalists from Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley. The regiment was raised at Flatbush in what is now Brooklyn and first served garrison duty in Huntington, Long Island. One of the regiment's most memorable actions was the capture of Forts Montgomery and Clinton near present-day West Point. The King's Americans also took part in William Tryon's raids on New Haven and Fairfield, Connecticut.
A Loyalist regiment is a unique offering. The King's Americans wore forest green jackets, white overalls, and round black hats turned up on one side. In this depiction, he is running with a musket. The figure is also available carrying the Union Jack (pre-1801). Each Leddy & Slack figure is attractively packaged and includes a brief regimental history.
Leddy & Slack figures are 1:32 scale, also measured as 54mm or 2-1/4 inches. They are cast-tin, hand-painted and contain no lead. Our pieces are generally finished in high-gloss toy-style but are available in matte finish if desired. Leddy & Slack figures are proudly manufactured in New York State. |
