You are bidding on a large collection of maps that are all from the World War II era in the 1940's. My father was a bombadier in World War II, POW and took flying lessons before assuming his duties. These were all his training maps to get around the United States and the World. They are all in very good shape for their age. I will do my best to explain every map in this package.
The first one is a large folding Map of the World on Mercators Projection. This map shows the Americas between the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans, Air Distances, Military Bases, US Possessions, Islands, Time Clocks with an Index. It was printed and published by The George F. Cram Co., Inc before the start of WWII - Indianapolis, Indiana. It sold for .50 Cents.
Next up is a stunning colorful folding map of Europe and the Mediterranean. On the cover it states: Cartographers By Appointment to the Late King George V. This map was printed and published by Edward Stanford, Ltd. 12-14, Long Acre, London, W.C.2. Paper 3/- Net.
