Completed & Framed Amish Saying Cross Stitch Sampler

In this auction is a completed and framed Cross Stitch Sampler with what we think may be an Amish saying, "We grow too soon old und too late shmart". We purchased it at an estate sale so we are unsure of its age or history. The sampler is in cross stitch on linen material. Inside measurements of the frame are 15 3/8 inches x 11 inches. Honey-colored wood frame measures approximately 1 inch thick so outside measurements of the frame are 18 3/8 inches x 14 3/4 inches. I see 4 scratches/nicks on the top front of the frame and several on the bottom front of the frame, but these might be touched up with furniture or shoe polish. The needlework has been professionally framed and has a hanging wire. Frame has non-glare glass and rounded edges. If the winning bidder so desires, we might be able to cut the costs of shipping by removing the sampler from its frame. Because it has paper covering the back of the frame we cannot tell presently if it would be possible to roll up or fold the sampler linen itself to cut down on shipping costs. We would have to check later to see if such mailing is possible, or if the linen has been glued to a cardboard backing.
