1953 WALT DISNEY PETER PAN PEANUT BUTTER LIDS - MINT!

One of my favorite toys as a kid wasn't even a toy! It was the PETER PAN PEANUT BUTTER lids from DERBY FOODS, INC. They were used to advertise the new DISNEY movie PETER PAN (1953) and of course sell more peanut butter! In all there were 16 different lids. These were the only ones left in our attic - I don't think I had a complete set as a kid, but I do remember having the Jolly Roger pirate ship and the Indian chief. The last one must have been Michael. There were actually two different types of these, lids you had to pry off, which usually dented them and these, which are either coasters or had a separate metal screw-on ring that held it to the jar(like a MASON JAR). This auction is for 13 out of the 16 piece collection. All fronts and backs are as mint as you will ever find them. These are tin litho and feature great DISNEY art from one of his best known movies. The backs are so shiny (reflective) that they were hard to scan, but they are without any defects. Smee shows a little dust, but it wiped right off. The lids are 3 inches in diameter. If you love PETER PAN don't let these get away!
