Lakol Wicohan - This in its best interpretation is a way of life. In our Lakota way of life, there is a song for everything. There are songs of sorrow to songs of happiness and songs of praise to songs of remembrance. There is a song for every part of this life and we have recorded only a fraction of it. This collection spans many generations. It is our dream that these songs will live far into the future. Our forefathers endured many hardships to ensure that these songs were preserved. It is truly our honor and privilege to be able to sing these songs. Many teachings of our elders are shared with us through song. Without music, our history and ”Way Of Life” will cease to exist.
