This is a U.S. unit that was purchased from a Steiner authorized dealer not refurbished or gray market. I would rate it cosmetic wise a very conservative 9 and optic wise a full 10. Binoculars are made in Germany and IN FULL WORKING CONDITION AND IS PERFECT. WILL BE PERFECT FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Steiner Rallye 20x80 is a water proof, rubber armored body and coated lens to resist glare and improve performance in low light, Easy on the eye for spotting long period and very nice weight, balance and can be hand held depending on use. Outstanding overall long range binoculars and was replaced by the Steiner Senator and Military version in 2004 that they go for $1300/1500. They all seem to be same body and optics wise, This one has an outstanding optics you have to see it to believe it, very bright, sharp and clear, could not find any online reviews to distinguish the difference between the Rallye, Senator, Military and observer, The only think I could think of perhaps the other replacement has a longer eye relief I suspect but have not seen them, or perhaps it is a marketing business from Steiner to update their products and charge more. It is a perfect use for wild life observation, civilian work or night stargazing. Sea,beach, mountains and everything else in between. This is the only Steiner 20x80 offered in e-bay at this low price or even anywhere online for that matter. Pls google it and get more info online. Will be perfect for the holidays. Hurry will not last at this price.
