About the Manufacturer: Master violin maker Karl Höfner founded his own stringed and fretted instrument company in Schönbach, Germany in 1887. With a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and innovation, Höfner soon became the largest manufacturer of stringed and fretted instruments in Germany. Thus, in 1907 Karl Höfner was entrusted with the repair of the violin of the Saxon King, and the master performed his job to the full satisfaction of his client.
 
When his two sons, Josef and Walter, joined their father's company in 1919 and 1921 respectively, acoustic guitars already represented a significant part of Höfner’s instrument production. In a market dominated by inexpensive student guitars during the 1920s and 1930s, Höfner guitars were already establishing new standards and the company capitalized on that leadership during the decades that followed.

In 1955 Walter Höfner, a creative businessman as well as a violin and guitar maker, invented an electrically amplified semi-acoustic bass. The distinctive 500/1 bass was launched at the 1956 Frankfurt Music Fair and subsequently rose to fame under a different name.
 
In 1961 Paul McCartney bought his first Höfner bass in a music shop in Hamburg. Paul’s ‘Beatle Bass’ can be heard on many of the Beatles‘ most famous songs and still accompanies him on stage and in the studio to this day.

A new chapter of Höfner history began in 1997 when the company moved to a new production facility near the village of Hagenau. Millions of Euros have since been invested in state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly production technologies. Today, Höfner continues to build fine quality, hand-crafted hollow-body and bass guitars for new generations of players and collectors.

• By purchasing the item(s) listed above you agree to be liable for any taxes or duties that you may incur. Shipping charges cover only the cost of shipping the item and insurance. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DUTY/TAX/BROKERAGE FEES THAT MAY BE CHARGED! We have no control over them, nor will be able to quote you on what they may be. Each Country is Different. 
• International shipments will be shipped via USPS Priority International Mail. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Returns

• We will accept refunds or exchanges within 10 day of the receipt of the item. Item must be in the original box, and in new condition. DO NOT WEAR OR USE OUTSIDE! We reserve the right to refuse returns in which the value has been diminished in some way.
• Contact us FIRST for shipping directions.
• Ship the item back to us and include a note stating whether you would like an exchange or refund and why you are returning it.

Combined Shipping

• We can combine shipping for multiple items on many of our products. Please email to confirm if any additional cost will be necessary.

Shipping Time Frame

• Orders are normally processed within 24 hours. All weekend orders will be processed the following Monday.
• UPS OPERATES ONLY MONDAY-FRIDAY EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS
• Please do not request a tracking number immediately after the payment is made. You will be forwarded a tracking number once the package is picked up by UPS. Your tracking info will be sent via e-mail from Quantum View.
• From time to time we do oversell on select items. In these situations the item will be dropshipped directly to you by the manufacturer. If delivery time will be longer than two weeks, we will contact you to discuss alternatives, including a full refund.

• If for some reason you are not recieving return emails from us, it may be that your spam filter or alternate email addresses are preventing the email from arriving. Please check any spam or bulk folders for replies.

Item Pickup

• We are able to provide local pick-up for items. Contact us BEFORE making plans to do so. We do ship out of several warehouses so we will need to make arrangements to make sure it is locally available.
