 1864 Edwards Scale Beam Manufacturer Antique Lithograph

SUBJECT/TOPIC: This is a matted civil war era New York lithograph published in 1864 (dated on lithograph).

Nice horse & carriage scene.

The scan does not capture the nice detail in the print. The lettering is perfectly readable and the color is very nice. 

The print does have ever so slight smudge at bottom right, barely seen. 

This 1864 dated lithograph was an illustration in D. T. Valentine's Manual.  Titled at the bottom, "Residence of John Edwards Scale Beam Manufacturer." Image size is 3 3/8 by 5 3/4 inches; page size is 4 1/2 by 7 1/4.  The reverse is blank.

Valentine's Manual was a popular almanac or gazette published annually in New York from 1842 to 1866. A series of books in the 1920's reprinted many of the original illustrations, and I don't know if this print is from the original 1864 issue or from a later reprint.  I purchased a small grouping of these already matted (8 x 10) ready for your frame.  This item is in plastic, giving the scan a slight sheen. The matting also offsets the scan of the image not capturing the excellent detail in the lithograph.

This is a super nice one. The mat is clean, but in older plastic that gives it a sheen and shading.

CONDITION Print is very good, but does have some water mark on extreme left and the mark at top. This is a pre-matted 8 x 10 print. I did not mat this, but condition is very good.  INSPECT PHOTO.
