About the Author
Rob VandeWeghe is a skeptic turned Christian by studying the evidence for Christianity. He holds a masters degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands. He also studied business economics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. With 15 years in information technology, he helped grow his company from a local concern that employed 300 to offices in 30 countries and more than 20,000 employees. He handled numerous multinational projects and businesses in Europe, North and South America and Australia until he retired as vice-president for the North American Consulting Division in 1999. Since that time he has painstakingly researched and vigorously studied the evidences for the Christian faith. As a direct result he committed his life to Christ. The compelling drive to share these evidences with others led him to found Windmill Ministries. This ministry equips and encourages Christians by building and reinforcing the foundations on which Christian beliefs rest.

This book is especially relevant against the background of recent discussions about creation versus evolution. These discussions are fed by the scientific movement that refers to itself with the term Intelligent Design. Within this movement one concludes that the basis for what we observe through science finds its origin in an intelligent design. For the author of this book this Designer - of Whom we scientifically do not have an opinion has to be the Creator, Who revealed Himself in the Bible. God as the Creator cannot be proven but honest scientific research can and should not exclude the Creator as an alternative. The author talks about this Creator. He is not too concerned about the matter of the creation-days in Genesis 1. God has also created time. This is one of the most detailed, well thought out books I have ever read on evidences. The style is easy to read and full of actual facts. I have shared this book with several people and those who have read it have all been blown away by the evidence. This is a great book for everyone, whether you believe in God or not, to challenge your own thinking.

Innovative and Refreshing Approach to Apologetics, December 13, 2007

Mr. Vandeweghe (there's a tongue twister!) has taken an innovative approach to evidences. He has provided a systematic examination of evidences that builds from one question to the next in a very logical progression. I am reminded of Stroebel's Case for Christ, in that Mr. V started his journey as a skeptic, only undertaking the study in order to examine his wife's new found beliefs, and wound up a believer. I suspect that the book mirrors the systematic progression of the road he traveled to arrive at faith himself. The amount of research Mr. V poured into this book is prodigious and is evident not only from the extensive Bibliography but from the material itself. It is clearly written, reflects current events in the field, and should be a welcome addition to the novice just beginning to grapple with evidences as well as the studied veteran.

A very extensive answer..., December 29, 2007

As a child you easily believe in Santa, God and the tooth fairy. Growing older you need more solid answers. This book reflects Rob's journey to discover the truth: a solid study of current evidences as well as his own excellent logical reasoning. If you look for answers, this book will surprise you, very thorough and at the same time very readable. It changed my life.

It is rare that I write a review but have chosen to do so for "Prepared to Answer" because of the comprehensive coverage of the book. This book could be used as the textbook of choice in a university "apologetics" curriculum. The quoting of source material is impressive from a multitude of distinguished scientists such as Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan, Michael Denton, Hugh Ross, Guillermo Gonzales, Jay Richards, T. N. Tahmisian (to name a few). Most significant to me, the book researches many of the topics of concern
that I needed to have answered on "my journey back to faith". Whether you are a student or novice in the study of apologetics, you will find this a valuable addition to your library.

Thorough and Prodigious Apologetic, March 10, 2008

Mr. van de Weghe was determined to leave no stone unturned in this impressive apologetic for faith. With echoes of Lee Stroble's journey, the integrity of van de Weghes search and the expansive research he did makes this mandatory reading for skptics and believers alike. The 587 footnotes alone make this book a treasure!

The level of detail in biology and multiple disciplines reflects serious study. A reader quickly realizes the "leap of faith" required by a devotion to humanistic evolution may be easily greater than believing intentional design and control by a benevolent creator. Each of the five key questions are addressed with a scholarship and depth of research all serious students will appreciate. Readers do best to start where Mr. van de Weghe started - with honest curiosity and a willingness to examine all assumptions in light of real evidence. The read will be gratifying.

I have been a student of the Holy Bible for many years. Mr. VandeWeghe's book, Prepared to Answer, is a refreshing journey into God's Word. This is truly for the Glory of God and will bless anyone who reads it.
