Moser Baccarat Era Acid Cut Crystal Enamel Art Glass
I just purchased this vintage Alsatian style wine stem from a prominent estate here in Central Virginia. The wine is characteristic of the fine cut back designs produced by a number of Bohemian glass houses (Moser, Goldberg, Harrach), similar fine cut work was done in France (Baccarat). The piece is beautifully executed with pale green bowl, crystal stem and foot. The bowl and foot show fine acid cut back detail with grape clusters surrounded by an intricate pattern of scrolled acanthus leaves. The ground is covered with a very fine stippling and the heavy relief finished in a rich gold enamel. The octagonal stem is cut with fine hatches along the panel edges and crossed cuttings to the lower wafer face. The wine measures 6 ½" high and 3" wide at the bowl (2 ½" mouth inner diameter). The piece is in excellent condition with no damage or noticeable surface wear (it appears unused, gently stored and essentially no loss to the gold). This elegant cut-back wine would make a nice addition to any collection of late 19th century / early 20th century Continental art glass. (I did purchase additional wines from this set also in excellent condition)
In light of new ebay policies, I now charge a HANDLING FEE for each parcel which is equal to the cost of USPS Insurance for its contents. Please wait to complete the ebay invoice until I can make sure the handling fee is correct for that item.
International bidders, I will send you an ebay invoice with USPS Shipping Options shortly after the auction closes. Please be advised that 1st Class Mail International does not offer insurance and parcels sent via that service are done entirely at your risk for loss or damage.
Successful US bidders, please see that I offer both USPS Parcel Post and Priority Mail as shipping options. Because it represents a lower priced option, I have placed Parcel Post as the first option on the eBay invoice. In many cases the cost difference between Parcel Post and Priority Mail is only a few cents. Recently, the shipping times for USPS Parcel Post have been significantly over their estimates. If you are concerned about turn around time, please choose the Priority Mail option. .
Payment must be received within seven days following the close of the auction. Ebay has established a policy which requires payment via PayPal, direct credit card or cash at pick-up. PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO DISCUSS PAYMENT OPTIONS. I WILL SHIP PARCELS WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE PAYMENT DATE, PLEASE DO NOT ANTICIPATE IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT. I typically expedite quite quickly, but based on a few experiences, my policy is the parcel will leave within a week of payment.
All Sales are Final unless there is SIGNIFICANT POST PRODUCTION DAMAGE which is not disclosed in the description or photographs. I DO NOT accept returns for production flaws or normal wear under any circumstances. You may return the item within 3 days of receipt for a refund if we agree there is a discrepancy. I will not refund shipping charges. I have tried to accurately describe the item but am not an expert and highly recommend interested bidders ask any questions or request additional photographs to make their own evaluation of the piece. By bidding on this auction you agree to these terms.
Virginia residents please include 5.0% sales tax, or tax exempt form. Thanks!
