3 Volume Set. Each book measures 8 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches and is bound in the original brown cloth binding with blind tooling, gilt emblem of Sydenham, and gilt title to spine. Volume 1 has 426 pages, Volume 2 has 412 pages and Volume 3 has 520 pages including the index. This complete set is illustrated with 507 illustrations throughout. There is some gutter separation beside the title page of volume 1 but its holding and the endpapers are intact and boards secure. No gutter separation to any other volumes. Small paper library number on bottom of spine of volume 2 and remnants of paper library number to volumes 1 and 3. Some oval 19th century library stamps to a few pages "Royal Edinburgh Asylum library". Slight fading to cloth of volume 1 and 2, the cloth binding of volume 3 being darker. Contents clean.
