This is a 4½’ x 10’ Gandy Billiard Table (NO POCKETS) although I am sure the rails could be fit
for pockets if so desired. It is in excellent shape, with one small area on
one leg where the finish has cracked off (see photo). The 3 piece slate is A
full 1” thick and has cut outs where pockets would go if rails were converted.
This table would have to have a new cloth, but with that and re-assembly (all
original nuts, bolts and screws are included) it would be ready to play on. I
will throw in cues and billiard balls (pictured).
History
A friend of mine and I bought this billiard table ( I
believe around 1990) from an elderly man that had bought it new from A. E.
Schmidt, St Louis MO, when his local ‘Pool Hall’ closed (probably a few years
prior to 1990). It set in his furniture store, upstairs where he had a 4½’ x 9’
Pocket pool table. We enjoyed several years of playing till his death. Since
then I put it in my basement where it has set sadly never assembled . Now I am
sorry to say I must sell it.
