This website is a "Directory Website" where there are listings of businesses.

The directory is filled with names and addresses of businesses. You contact the businesses by mail with an offer letter, letting them know they are listed in the Directory and offer the have them upgrade their listing to add their Telephone, Email, Website and a Map to their business.
This is a LOT easier than it sounds, trust me.
Please look at the screenshots below to see how a listing is added/upgraded!
If you can press keys on a computer keyboard, then you can add/edit/delete records.

You can send a letter to the businesses and allow them to upgrade with their telephone and email for FREE, then you will have a growing list of their email addresses which can be used to promote other products/websites of yours OR you can offer advertising to companies who would like to advertise their products to those types of businesses.

If you want to allow the businesses to edit
or upgrade their listings, here is how that happens.
VERY EASY!!
WEBSITE ADMINISTRATION
When you click on "view listing" for any record, you are brought to the page seen in a screenshot below. It contains more information on that particular listing. When a person chooses to upgrade to include a map to their business, all you have to do is type some words into the website map text box and a link is created automatically to the mapquest.com website showing where their business is located.

At this point, you will receive an email from PayPal saying a payment has been made and you will know someone ordered a listing and will soon be sending you their information for the listing. Meanwhile, the customer is brought to the form below after they make their payment.
Now you will receive their infomration in your email and you just log in to the Administration area and add their listing (or edit their current one if they are already in the directory and upgrading.)
That's it! Now you will get a yearly payment,
for just that one minute of work.

Let's take the Real Estate Website for an example.
ONE click on a home page Google Ad earned me $7.43
and that was in the morning with only 37 total visitors to my site.
With that kind of Click through ratio (CTR), if you get 1000 visitors to your site each day, you will earn $200.81 a day or $6,024 a MONTH
However, you could easily get at least 100 people to your site each day with very little work. Those earnings alone are $600 a month. That's not bad for a little side cash!

this for the people who are very new to the internet or to
owning/running a website.
 What
exactly is a website?
What you are looking at right now is a webpage.
Basically any page that is viewable through your web browser is a
web page. You can also call that one page a website,
but more typically a website is
a collection of web pages linked together with hyperlinks. With all
of this, you would also want a Domain Name.
What's
a
Domain Name?
I have some website files that were uploaded to my hosting providers computers
so it's on the internet for people to see. That website was assigned a numeric
address which is called an IP Address. It tells the world where my website files
are located.
It looks like this: 67.199.77.91
For an internet visitor to view my website, they would have to type in the web
address into their browser address bar like this: http://67.199.77.91
Can you image trying to have people remember all those numbers and that is just
one website.
So people register Domain Names to use for their website instead of ip
addresses. For example, cidicon.com is a domain name and the web hosting
provider makes sure that when that domain name is typed into a browser address
bar, the web visitor is brought to the Cidicon website that is located at the
address 67.199.77.91 So cidicon.com
is the
Domain Name
but what you SEE at
http://www.cidicon.com is the Website.
It costs less than $10 per year to
register a domain name!
What's a
Hosting
Account/What is Hosting?
When you have webpages and a website,
those web pages have to be on a computer at a company that
provides website hosting. If you have the webpages just
sitting on your computer at home, no one can see them except
you. There are thousands of companies that sell website
hosting and all have different features, services and ways
of accessing your website. (My favorite
hosting provider is GoDaddy)
These companies computers are called
Servers which are computers that provides services used by
other computers. In this case, it would be called a "Web
Server" because they provide website services.
You MUST have a Website Hosting account
with a company and upload your website files onto that
server in order for your website to be seen by the world.
What's
a hyperlink?
(Also called Link)
A hyperlink is when you have a word, words
or pictures that when clicked upon, you are taken to another web
page or website. Normally, you can tell something is a hyperlink
because the word(s) are underlined and/or a different color than the
rest of the words on the page.
These words are underlined and a different
color. If you click on the words, you will be taken to a
different page. |
