Franklin Mint History World War II Stamp & Coin Cards These are very rare and I can't find anything like them on eBay or elsewhere. 2 Franklin Mint's History of World War II series, dated 1979. Each "card" holds a "coin" with an image of either an important World War II event and the name of the event on the back of the coin. Each coin card comes inside an envelope that has a picture of a newspaper clipping corresponding to whatever battle or event the coin portrays, and more several paragraphs of information on the back flap of the envelope. Each envelope also has a stamp pertaining to the country (Germany and Poland) that particular coin/card deals with, along with a date stamp. Coins are encased in a plastic seal. I don't know what the coins are made of. 1) U.S. ARMORED UNITS CROSS RHINE AT REMAGEN (March 7, 1945 in Remagen Germany) - Kansas City Star 2) GERMANS MARCH INTO POLAND (September 1, 1939 in Gdynia, Poland) - The New York Times
