The Dog Book, Volumes 1 and 2 written by James Watson in 1906 - A Popular History of the Dog, with Practical Information as to Care and Management of House, Kennel, and Exhibition Dogs; and Descriptions of All the Important Breeds.

The title might sound basic but the books have over 630 pages in Volume 1 and 640 pages in Volume 2. They are lavishly illustrated from photographs, paintings and rare engravings. These books are a wonderful resource and are still highly relevant.
