This is a brand new, in the box women's Karamica watch, with a Swiss ETA 805.111 quartz movement.  All tags and protective plastic are in place.  (I did temporarily remove the crystal cover to take the photos.)  The color is a very nice, but hard to find ivory color, which is not as stark as white, nor as masculine as black.  The stainless steel parts are silvertone - the watch back, numerals on the face, bezel rim, etc. The ceramic case measurement is 39mm, and the ceramic bracelet measures 8 1/4" long and 19mm wide.  It has a stainless steel dual deployant clasp, and a colorful mother of pearl face with silver roman numerals.  

The ceramic material is made through a very high-tech process, and requires laborious, exacting calibrations, to allow baking the raw material at high enough temperatures to cause it to compress and shrink to an exact size.  Many of the individual links and cases are destroyed after baking, because they do not result in the very exact measurements required to fit perfectly into a flexible, well proportioned band.  Ceramic is known for its incredible hardness and durability. Despite a common misconception, ceramic is not brittle and is extremely difficult to crack, scratch, or otherwise damage. Ceramic also has the added benefit of retaining its look, color, and luster over time. As a result, the use of ceramic in watches continues to gain popularity.
