Franklin Mint/Armour 1:48 Scale F6F-5 Hellcat Minsi-III

Up for sale is a Franklin Mint/Armour Collection 1:48 scale Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat diecast model.  This aircraft is painted as the personal fighter of the US Navy's ace of aces from WWII, Commander David McCampbell.  In this Hellcat, which he named Minsi-III, McCampbell scored many of his WWII total of 34 confirmed kills. Commander McCampbell flew his most famous mission in this aircraft, in which he shot down 9 Japanese fighters in minutes and earned the Congressional Medal of Honor. After the war, he went on to command several aircraft carriers, and a Hellcat painted as his Minsi-III still flies at air shows today.

The model is in absolute mint condition, and features a clear framed canopy with a detailed cockpit interior. All of the original packaging is included, and I have supplemented the usual FM/A plastic end caps with some clear tape to help keep the model secure. The box is in good condition with only minor shelf wear, and I have included the certificate of authenticity in its original envelope.  Item is sold as is, and all sales are final.  Thanks for looking!
