Arthur Daley's Guide to Doing It Right! by Leon Griffiths
Fontana Paperbacks (1986)
Folks, usually when it comes to the description of an item I'm selling, I find myself struggling most of the time because I have a memory like Swiss cheese, but can mostly muddle through. With this item, I'm going to try something new - I'm going to let the man himself tell what this book is all about. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present Mr. Arthur Daley!
"Dear Discriminating Punter,
May I recommend to you this little book of mine. Consider it a handy manual for the villians amongst us, full of such wisdom and good advice as: how to conduct yourself when being interviewed by the Old Bill; how to buy and sell a motor; how to cheer up your friends in the nick (and it happens to us all); what Jack the Lad gets up to in the afternoon; the best places to shoplift; how to spot a gentleman. If you are a thrusting entrepreneur and buccaneer of the alternative economy, or aspiring to be one, then this book is your meal ticket. Ladies and Gentlemen, the world is your lobster!
As ever,
Arthur Daley"
I hope that clears it up for everyone. Having been a recipient of the wisdom contained within this tome, I can thoroughly recommend it! And it covers much, much more than the above-mentioned items. But I don't want to give too much away. (What kind of wally would that make me? I want you to buy it, so I ain't going to give it away!) All I can say is, you will benefit from the wisdom provided by Mr Daley, and the world will be yours to own. Because this is a must-read item, you'll find there is some edgewear from reading and handling, and some slight aging here and there due to the tropical climate. But nothing major. If you want to own this guide to Doing It Right, then you'd better get in quick before some villian beats you to the punch. What are you waiting for?
