JOSEPH PINTAURO COLD HANDS FIRST EDITION This is a FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING hardback of Joseph Pintauro’s novel of exploding sexuality. Simon and Schuster 1979. Has been compared to Gore Vidal's City and the Pillar. Both the book and dust jacket are in excellent shape. This is not a book club edition. No names or name plates in the book. The dust jacket is not price clipped ($10.95). There is a remainder mark on the bottom of the book and there is a very small price tag (about ½ by ¾ inches) on the inside flap which could probably be removed. A VERY NICE BOOK. Pintauro is a playwright of over 50 successful plays. He is one playwright “who will never be accused of being too subtle.” In Cold Hands, one of his few novels, Cello witnessed his mother's suicide; Tato was punished by his father's sadistic stupidity. The intense relationship the two boys form shields them from their savage life. Later, as grown men, Cello seeks out Tato, fresh from a failed marriage and their sexuality threatens to explode. |
