Up for bid is this fantastic lot of paper ephemera from the 1920s and 1930s. This all came from one family named Manning who lived in the Cleveland, OH area. These people were very traveled and much of this lot reflects that. There are 6 cablegrams, ticket stubs from places such as Lourdes, France; hotel receipts from France, London, Canada; restaurant receipts from France and Rome; money wiring receipts; there are some letters and many many Christmas cards addressed to the family; there is a dance card from a Country Club dance in April, 1927; 2 remembrance cards for the ordination of two new priests...one from 1924 and one from 1931; there are a few used postcards; a photograph of 4 young women in bathing suits appearing to be from the 1920s; a Board of Education offer of employment to Catherine Manning dated October 8, 1934. I would say that most of this lot is in very good condition. Some of the letters and receipts are faded and torn in places but all in all, this is truly a great lot of ephemera! This lot weighs about 1-1/2 lbs. before wrapping. |
