This hardcover antique childrens book is bound in green decorated cloth.  It measures approximately 3 3/4 inches wide by 5 1/4 inches tall.  The pages of the book are not numbered, but our count was just over 100.  The book appears to be complete.  It is generously illustrated throughout.  This item was produced as an advertising piece for the Rexall brand and distributed through Colvin's Drug Store in Sodus, NY.  A Colvin's stamp is shown on the preliminary page along with the previous owner's name - Phyllis Smith, Fifth Grade, Sodus N.Y, Sodus High.  On the rear end page is a little note: To Phyllis Smith From Ruth S.  Very sweet.

The contents of this book are mainly short ryhming stories.  Many concern the attempts of Captain Rexall (little girl) and Sergeant Chub (little boy) to teach animals various activities such as:

Teaching the Bears how to Blow Bubbles
Teaching the Storks Lawn Tennis
Teaching the Cat and Monkey to Fly Kites
Teaching the Pig how to Play Skipping Rope
Teaching the Bull Dog how to Use the Punching Bag
Teaching the Mules to Play Golf
The Great Football Game Between the Sheep and The Shepherd Dogs
Etc.

The pages of this book show light soil.  There are several minor closed margin tears with one larger chip (shown).  The binding of this book is a little bit loose, but it will definitely stand up to use assuming it is handled respectfully.  We would recommend this item to collectors of Rexall related material, collectors of Drug Store or Pharmacy related material, collectors of vintage and antique children's books, or collectors of items related to Sodus or Wayne County, NY.
