This box is commonly referred to as a ".50 cal Ammo Can".

Nomenclature on the boxes will very 

(most of them have "100crtg .50 cal" and some have 5.56mm)

Measurements: 11 1/2" long, 6" wide, 7" high

All steel construction, olive drab color

Great for ammo storage, tool box, hunting gear, fishing gear, geocaching as catch, cache container, etc.
