My Life As An Indian by James W. Schultz. Houghton Mifflin Company with 1914 at Bottom of Title Page. Copyright 1906 , 1907 by Forest and Stream Publishing Company. Illustrated by photographs mostly by George Grinnell. Schultz's first book -- The story of a red woman and a white man in the lodges of the Blackfeet. This book has a white spot on front cover and top and bottom of spine edges rubbed. Cover corners rubbed. Personal library sticker pasted inside front cover. Opposite white page - see photo - is a very nice Inscription to Robert Frothingham -- It states in Schultz's ink handwriting -- AND HERE'S TO THE BIG GRIZZLY THAT WE ARE GOING TO KILL. SINCERELY, JAMES WILLARD SCHULTZ (APUKINI) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA DECEMBER 17, 1917. There is some foxing on this inscription page and also some foxing along edges of Title page from presence of flyleaf still present in this old book. With the exception of the spot on front cover and cracked inside covers along spine because of improper careless opening of covers, the Inscription by Schultz makes this a nice scarce collectible. |
