About Hard Water:

Basically, water moves through the earth dissolving minerals, holding them in solution as salts, consisting mainly of calcium and magnesium. Most of these salts eventually deposit themselves as scale in your pipes, water heaters and other appliances which use water. Installation Procedures for the Magnetic Water Softener Conditioners

Perform the following only when you are ready to install the Magnetic Brackets on the pipe.

CAUTION: These units are powerful and the magnets can cause serious injury or damage. Watch your fingers here, these magnets are extremely strong and will pinch with amazing speed and force.  Maintain a firm grip on both parts, keep the two magnet brackets a minimum of 10 inches apart during installation or until the Magnet brackets are properly secured.

Remove the unit from the box, set this bracket piece down away from tools or other metal objects. This unit comes with the hardware installed. You need to remove the outer nuts* and one magnet bracket only, use extreme caution when the nuts are removed to keep the two pieces apart. A Minimum of 10 inches!  Place the bracket around the pipe and center the magnets on the pipe. Align and adjust the inner nuts to properly fit around the pipe. Then re-install and tighten the two outer nuts.
