I'm selling a Martin DC-16GTE Acoustic Guitar. This is a total workhorse guitar that's ready to hit the road for some bar gigs. It's pretty beat but functions perfectly. No need to worry about that "first scratch". Tons of road-worn vibe! The good stuff: This guitar features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back & sides, a dreadnaught sized body with a cutaway to access the upper frets, Fishman Stereo Blender Pickup System, Hybrid X Scalloped bracing (the scalloped bracing really opens up the tone), 25.4" scale length, nut width of 1-11.16", Bone nut & saddle, and a 14 fret neck. Made in USA. The bummer stuff*: Other than a ton of playwear, dings, and scratches, this guitar has a few unsightly but structurally solid repairs that wear done before I bought it. The headstock was broken and epoxied back together. It's holding just fine and the truss rod still works. The "repairman" that did it was a little sloppy with the epoxy so there's some dribbles and smears on the back of the neck and headstock. It's smooth where you need to play, however. There's some epoxy finger smudges on the top, too. Sheesh. There's some random finish discoloration on the top, mostly around the soundhole. I believe it's from using a rubber feedback buster. Sometimes the rubber material reacts with lacquer finishes. It's not a huge deal but I wanted to point it out. There was a crack in the top that I repaired using wood glue. It's holding solid. Moving forwards: I've installed a bone nut and saddle, and levelled & crowned the frets so this guitar plays & sounds great. This Fishman Stereo Blender System sounds fantastic, it's nice to be able to mix the undersaddle pickup with the built in condenser microphone. So basically: This is an all-solid wood 2002 Martin dread that was made (and well-loved) in the USA. In the past I've bought, repaired, used, and sold 16-Series Martins in similar shape with great results. People seem to buy them, play the heck out of them, play them some more, and then move up the Martin ladder. This is a great guitar for gigging out or even learning on. I personally like the vibe of beat up guitars. *Disclaimer: I'm a repairman so I've gone over this guitar as best that I can and deemed it worthy. I am trying my best to disclose any issues that I can find so you know what you are getting. I have personally used this guitar on gigs with no issues. Paypal only, please.
