Early 1800s dark blue plate Staffordshire POCAHONTAS

Marked Pocahontas.

9 1/4" diameter.

Shows no chips, cracks or stains.

Professional restoration of a tight age line from the rim.

Very little cosmetic repair was needed on the front.

Just light color touch up.

Structurally sound.

It shows utensil wear from use.

Romantic Staffordshire or maybe Historical Staffordshire.

We can find no reference to the pattern.

Possibly rare.

It has scalloped edges.

The center transfer shows mountains and a waterfall with the moonlight reflecting.Pocahontas is riding in a cart pulled by three reindeer.

In one hand she holds a long bow and wears a large quiver of arrows on her back.

The border shows a ribbon or drapery pattern.There are two small pictures on the border that are repeated three times each.In one it appears that Pocahontas is sitting on a couch and two birds are raising her skirt.The other picture shows a masculine cupid with a wreath of flowers.
