For sale are medical quality military (made in Germany stamped on them) 7 inch forceps that are serrated at the ends. These are perfect for counter moving and can handle large stacks well. They are military surplus that I bought a hundred of in 1984 before Origins '84 as our gaming group found them to be the best we've ever used. I sold a few at the Origins convention but many people were tight with their cash so I was only somewhat successful. It was typical for me to manage a sale to one person while other's at the gaming tables declined and then I'd return to that table (e.g. a monster game setup such as Fall of France) later and sure enough the player's were passing around my forceps. They were the class item while the little & short ladies type tweezers were abandoned. The longer length allows you to rest on your elbow and pivot around the front shuffling counters without the fatique like with a short set. You have to trust me because it's hard to describe how effective they are. The serrated tips clutch well and they're angled so you can grasp the bottom counter of a half dozen stack and move it all with ease. It's also possible to pick and choose amongst a stack and move say the top two counters of a stack and not mess those below. These are, as I mentioned before, medical grade and will arrive in their original october 1956 packaging. You'll have to remove them from the foil enclosure that's within the sealed outer pack and wipe them off to remove the packing gel they are incased in. These will last your lifetime! I'm so confident you'll find these indespensible once you begin using them that I'll accept returns and offer a full refund. I'm no longer using free shipping and I'm revising the cost structure and moving the bulk of the cost into shipping and handling...and really it's the handling you're paying for as I bought these circa 1984 so I'm not trying to recover the cost. I even found one of my self-made flyers I had for Origins '84...doesn't seem that long ago. Regardless of whether you get a game or something I can include these with, I'll have to charge the S&H fee. Which means no more international orders unless you buy a game This offering is more of a hobby gift to gamers because these forceps are so well suited for our tasks.
On Jul-02-09 at 17:37:24 PDT, seller added the following information:
as of August 2nd I have less than 2 dozen left... and about 7 of those have been opened and cleaned..which is a positive for the buyer as they are packed in a greasy sterile-preserving gel-that's about 50 years old...makes my shipping more difficult as I'll have to wrap them up so they don't bust through the envelope...I may reserve them for buyer's that get a game or another item (mention you want a pair and I'll adjust your invoice-don't place the order here as it will foul up the inventory count)
those that are opened are unused and shiney new- I found a batch of them and I think they were my "display-sell right away" at Origins '84
I have about six well used that are "my own" and are scattered around the house and garage
then that's it.
there's been a few repeat buyers so secure yourself a pair soon. I've sold quite a few internationally too-foreign buyers need just to buy a game and it'll ship with the game but you'll be charged the S&H even as my inventory declines I've only raised the cost 20 cents and I've priced them so that if you get a second pair you save a dollar
and I've sold many of these in pairs
On Aug-17-09 at 08:45:17 PDT, seller added the following information: new pricing due to folks thinking they could get around the handling fee through various methods-which I don't fault you for, I do so myself. So the cost is split between S&H and purchase price of item. They may arrive as they were originally sealed or opened and cleaned. |
