There is nothing more delightful than walking through the garden that you planted from seed! Today you are considering one of my favorite flowers -- AND a favorite since Medieval times: Dame's Rocket. One of the first to bloom when the daffodils and tulips have finished -- I receive many compliments on this wonderful lavender / purple flower! Everyone asks: "what is that? It's beautiful!" And did I say, easy to grow from seed?

Flowers grow on top of long tall stems, creating long clusters of lavender / purple flowers that are sweetly fragrant. Dame's Rocket is great for bouquets and the perfect plant for woodland or partially shaded areas. Also makes the ideal flower as filler in fresh cut flower arrangements. Dame's Rocket reseeds -- blooming every year like a perennial plant. Grows best in part shade.

Light: some sun PREFERS partial shade however, I've had some grow in the sun also
Miscellaneous: An enjoyable and easily grown variety from seed. This plant requires little maintenance.

Interesting Fact: “Rocket” reflects the super-rapid growth in spring before bloom. The “Dame” in the name marks this flower as a favorite of women and mothers in medieval flower lore.
