Introducing the all new and improved Port-A-Pet!
You, the animal lovers of the world have been kind enough to give me input on my carrier and I listened. My newly designed collapsible carrier has gone through many changes through out the years, and after selling over 5,000 Port-A-Pets I think I’ve come up with a much improved design! My new carrier features a 1/3rd heaver frame to handle the weight of multiple riders. This heaver frame also insures your carrier will open quickly and assume the proper shape after many openings. I incorporated a small loop directly in the center of the top inside of the carrier. This new feature can be used to hang toys, a perch or perhaps a sugar glider pouch. Another major improvement implemented is the new dual zippered front. The new higher quality twin zipper design is twice as large as the old zippers to allow quick access to the inside of the carrier. All these features plus a bright new color. Thank you for your comments and input through out the years and thank you for helping me create the best collapsible pet carrier on the market. Sincerely yours, Dennis. J. As always the front and back are made of mesh to allow for good air flow. Hello, my name is Dennis. I designed the pet carrier I call the Port-A-Pet. I take credit for the design but many people had a hand in the final product. I decided to start this business after being fired from my job. I had never been fired from any job before in my life and it was a wake up call to jump through the hoops and start my own company. I have always loved animals of all kinds and think if we own an animal we need to do everything we can to make sure they have a good life. Lets face it, most pets would be better off in there natural habitat than with us especially birds. Yes we give good food, toys, a warm place to sleep and don’t forget love. But let’s face it they are sacrificing a lot to live with us. So we need to do everything we can to give them a good life. For example right now I allowing my Quaker parrot sit on my hand as I type and it is slowing me down big time. Especially when she Poops! You would think she would be happy on my shoulder but no she has to be on the part of me that’s moving. Silly bird! My animals are very happy most of the time but when I needed to take them to the vet or to have there beak trimmed or whatever they would be scared to see all the new things moving in and out of there vision. If they were to jump around because they were startled they could be hurt by the unfamiliar cage. I also didn’t like having the portable cage taking up room in my house. That’s when I came up with the Idea of the Port-A-Pet. Soft nylon sides that wouldn’t let in much light and a mesh front and back that would allow them to see out of but not very well but still lets in plenty of air. And I made it collapsible so I could just hang it from the cage in case or emergencies or carry it to pet shows in case I brought home a new friend. Fully opened it measures aprox. 12 in. deep by 10 in. wide by 13 in. tall. When collapsed it folds down to a size just 5 in. wide by ¾ in deep. About the size of a doughnut. When I started selling this carrier the only concerns people had was that there bird would chew through it. I can honestly tell you and this even surprises me that after selling over one thousand Port-A-Pet carriers I have not had even one complaint for chewing or anything else. Knock on wood! My Quaker did try to chew on the mesh but could not get a hold of it. To distract her I hang a small toy on the hanger inside the carrier and that worked fine.( the toy is not included ) She never tried to chew again, infact when she is in the carrier she usually falls asleep within ten minutes. When my cockatiel rides she doesn’t need a toy she doesn’t mind it at all. With small birds Like finches open the zipper near the top just enough to slide your hand in so they cant escape. I’m sorry I have to charge $18.00 for this carrier and a little for shipping. Believe me if I were rich I wouldn’t. I would just give them a way. I don’t make very much money on them but what I do get is great satisfaction from having people write to say how much there bird, snake, Sugar Glider, Hamster or whatever is happy and calm riding in the carrier. Well thanks for listening to this windy description of my product and by the way I didn’t give up my day job ( I can’t afford it ). I Thank you and God bless. Dennis.
"I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. I have done something," He replied. "I created you." ~The Animals' Savior~ Copyright Jim Willis 1999 |
