Vintage Fisher Price #997 Play Family Village

Thanks for stopping by! This auction bidding is for a Vintage Fisher Price Little People #997 Play Family Village. The items included in the auction are the exact ones featured in the photos. Please see the descriptions below for more information about individual pieces.

Description of Village:

• Village Base Piece - Red w/Grey Base: Front litho above Theater has a small tear on the top edge between the "E" and "A" in the word "THEATER". The litho on the Mail Box has a scratch in the blue area above the word "MAIL". The floor litho in the Post Office has edge wear on the open side. All other lithos are in very good condition with almost no surface or edge wear and all lithos are tightly attached without bubbles or wrinkles. All doors are intact and work well. The lever above the fire station makes a siren sound when turned. The structure itself is in very good, played-with condition.
  
• Village Base Piece - Yellow w/Grey Base: The Barber Shop litho has a bubble. The Barber Shop floor litho has faint stain on it. It's so faint that I'm not sure if it is really there. All other lithos are in very good condition with almost no surface or edge wear and all lithos, except the Barber Shop sign, are tightly attached without bubbles or wrinkles. The jail door opens and closes when the knob above the Police Station is turned. All doors are intact and work well. The handle for the set is on this section. It is in good working order and attaches to the other section as it should. The piece on this section that connects to the bridge has been repaired and connects as it should, but it looks repaired (see photo.) It could benefit from a redo. The rest of the structure is in very good, played-with condition.
  
• Village Connector Bridge - White with Molded 'Stone' Facade: The knob on the top turns to change the traffic light from green, to yellow, to red. It works well and the bridge itself is in very good, played-with condtion.

Village Accessories and Little People:

(1) Telephone Booth: The back wall litho is tightly attached and in very good condition. The door opens and closes properly. The white plastic is slightly discolored. The top, front piece has a nick out of the lower edge about 1/2" wide. It's right on the lower edge ridge. It also has a small ding in the plastic on the right, front upright. That one is very small, but noticeable with the eye.

(1) Barber Chair: Slightly discolored; very good, played-with condtion.

(1) Dentist Chair: Slightly discolored with two small dings in the plastic on the back of the chair.

(1) Fire Engine with Yellow Ladder: Surface scratches; good played-with condition.

(1) Police Car: Many noticeable dings on the blue part on the plastic. Rolls well but kind of rough.

(1) Green Car with White Base, Single Seat: Surface scratches; good played-with condition.

(1) Yellow Car with White Base, Double Seat: Surface scratches; good played-with condtion.

(1) Mail Truck: Surface scratches; good, played with conditon.

(1) Yellow & Turquoise Umbrella Table: Small ding in one of the scallops on the side of the umbrella. The color is beginning to wear off around the top edge of the table. The spring is in good condition. Surface scratches on umbrella and table, good played-with condition.

(4) Coral Chairs: This is actually 2 sets of matching chairs. The color variation is slight and not noticeable in the photos, but side-by-side in natural light, you can see that these four chairs are from two different sets.

(1) Coral Backyard Barbeque Grill: The litho is intact but has quite a bit of surface and edge wear. The grill matches two of the chairs listed above.

(1) Yellow Single Bed: Surface scratches; foam mattress is gone; good, played-with condition.

(2) Barbers/Dentists/Doctors: All plastic, very good, played-with condition.

(1) Fireman with White Hat: All plastic; very good, played-with condition.

(1) Grey Mailman: Wood body; plastic head & hat; very good, played-with condtion.

(1) Yellow Frowning Boy with Ball Cap: Wood body; plastic head and hat. Paint on body is fading but still in very good condition.

(1) Blue Woman with Yellow Ponytail: Wood body & head; plastic hair. Her face looks very nice, but the skin color is fading. It also looks as though someone glued her head back on at some time and her hair doesn't seem to be far enough down on her forehead. She looks good, but she has been tampered with.

(1) Black Dog with Red Ribbed Collar: All plastic in very good, played-with condition.

(1) Policewoman: All plastic; some chew marks or bad scruff marks on her hat. Otherwise, in very good, played-with condition.

(8) Post Office Letters. Please see photos. 7 are from one set and one from another. I don't think the seven are the originals for this set, but they work in the mail slots. The eighth one is a bit smaller and probably one of the originals.
