 Up for auction is this set of 8 vintage china plates.  The mark on the bottom says "Orleans," Z. S. & Co., Bavaria.  These plates were handed down to my husband's grandmother from her mother, they were a wedding gift to his great grandparents. They are in remarkably good condition on the whole, the colors are nice and bright and six of the eight plates have no chips or cracks whatsoever.  One does have a tiny chip which I've shown in the picture and another has a crack that I've also shown and on two there is a little scratching on the center (you can see any scratches in the pictures of the individual plates) but overall they truly are in beautiful shape. The plates measure approximately seven and a half inches across. My mother-in-law found an article on the plates that she had saved from 1980 or so telling a little bit about them so I took a picture of that and included it here as well.

As an aside - shipping costs have risen and I have noticed in my feedback ratings that some people feel my shipping rates are high. I DO NOT make a profit on shipping, I never charge extra for the cost of the box or packing materials and I have never had any items damaged in shipping. I pack well, am conscientious about the cost and if ever I have gone over by more than a dollar I have refunded the buyer the overage amount. I intend to continue all of these practices so rest assured that I will not make a profit on shipping and handling.
