Amazingly detailed! Made by The Franklin Mint, this is a 1:48 scale model of the CF-18 Hornet CAF No.425 Sqn, CFB Bagotville, Quebec, Canada.  This plane is in actual combat colours as it is flying today.  Many changes were made to the existing mold to make the plane as acurate as possible with todays moderised Cf-18's.

 

 
The F-18 is regarded as the first of the digital warplanes. It offers excellent performance in both air-to-air and air-to-ground
missions. This highly detailed die-cast model is built to scale and honors this awesome fighting machine.
The plane measures approx. 13 3/4 inches long and has a wingspan of approx. 10 1/2 inches.

About the 425 Sqn:

On 25 June 1942, 425 Bomber Squadron formed at Dishforth, England. The squadron saw wartime service in England, North Africa and RCAF Station Debert, Nova Scotia, where they were disbanded on 5 September 1945. They reformed at RCAF Station St. Hubert on 1 October 1954 as an All-Weather Fighter Squadron. They spent a short time at RCAF Station Namao (from October 1961 to July 1962) as the CF-101 Operational Training Unit before moving to their present home at 3 Wing Bagotville. They are now known as 425 Tactical Fighter Squadron. It is now known as 425 Tactical Fighter Sqn and equipped with the CF-18.
