"Is She Really Going Out with Him?" is the first single released by Joe Jackson in September 1978.^[1] The track was included on Jackson's debut album, Look Sharp!, the following year,^[1] and a live version appeared on Volume 4 in 2003. Despite initially being released in 1978, it took a re-issue (catalogue number AMS 7459) of the single in the summer of 1979 to break Jackson into the UK Singles Chart and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Jackson's self-penned song reached #13 in the UK, and #21 in the U.S.^[1][3] It also appeared in the charts in Australia, Canada and the Netherlands.^[4] The B-side to the initial release, "(Do The) Instant Mash" also appeared on Look Sharp!. However, on the re-issue hit version, it was replaced by the non-album track, "You Got the Fever".
