Founded in New Orleans in 1976, the Center for Gulf South History and Culture has produced numerous acclaimed media works, symposia and workshops pertaining to the culture of the American Gulf South. Since the advent of Hurricane Katrina CGS has actively participated in the recovery effort with special empasis on at risk youths in the communities most impacted by hurricane devastation. The Center for Gulf South History and Culture is a non- profit, tax exempt corp. under IRS section 501-c-3.
