Bay Area high priests High on Fire are the kind of metal act that transcends boundaries. Fans of old-school thrash, doom, sludge, alternative rock, and hardcore can all get on board for their potent, black tar onslaught. This 2003 live set captures the band's fierce, all-out heaviness with clear production that doesn't sacrifice their grit and grind. Stoner metal legend singer Matt Pike hones his finely graveled voice on classics like the epic "To Cross The Bridge," longtime favorite "Hung, Drawn, and Quartered," and Venom's "Witching Hour." At eight songs, the only real complaint is that it's too small a dose of their overwhelming, bulldozing rock, but it's a concentrated hit.
