Approx. 800 pages each volume. Measures 5 1/2 x 7 3/4" tall. Original publisher's red ribbed cloth binding with gilt decoration and titles on the spine gilt.
Illustrated with frontispiece photogravure, and other black and white illustrations. Some of the plates are marked by the artist.

This set is in Fair to Good condition. The boards are pretty clean. They have nimor wear and some staining. The binding and hinges are good. a few are loose. The corners have some bends. A bit of shelfwear on some edges. The gilt decorations on the spines are bright but with a bit of rubbing on some. The pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. there are a few pages loose throughout the set. There is no writing or markings of any kind or missing pages.
