known as Purple Horse Mint and Lemon Beebalm. Delightful and easy to grow, you
can add springs of mint from YOUR garden in your fresh herb sun-tea or hot tea
drinks. Or you can dry flowers for dried arrangements!
Lemon Mint is well loved by bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and tea drinkers!
The genus name, Monarda citriodora
is after a 16th century Spanish physician: Nicholas Monardes from Seville who
wrote about "New World medicinal plants." The species name comes from Latin
meaning "citrus smell".
Native to the Plains of the US this is a very nice and functional plant, it
is said that the
