Dempsey's aggressive style and punching power made him one of the most popular boxers in history. Many of his fights set financial and attendance records. Jack Dempsey has been listed in the "Newspaperboys' Hall of Fame" book ( will add this book too) written by Sid Marks and Alban Emley, next to other famous names like Monte Blue, Joe DiMaggio, Walt Disney, Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Harry Truman and more.
