BY LIVING IN WESTERN N.C. I HAVE OFTEN FOUND AND SOLD CHEROKEE BASKETS. MOST WERE MADE FOR THE TRADE AND NOT TOO MANY WERE AS VINTAGE AS THIS ONE.

THIS IS A LARGE CHEROKEE STORAGE BASKET.

IS IS 13" TALL.

 THE DIAMETER OF THE BOTTOM IS 9".

 THE DIAMETER OF THE TOP IS 11".

IT IS WIDER IN THE CENTER OF THE BASKET ....

MADE OF SPLINT OAK AND DYED WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS IN PLACES, IT IS A WELL CONTRUSTED BASKET.

YOU CAN SEE THE DYE ON THE INSIDE BETTER THAN ON THE OUTSIDE. I SUSPECT IT HAS FADED OVER THE YEARS.

THE CIRCA OF THIS BASKET IS LATE 1930'S TO 1940'S.

I DO SEE THE ARTIST INITITAL ON THE BOTTOM .

LOOKS LIKE A J O -HARD TO TELL FOR SURE AS IT TOO IS A BIT FADED....

THE CONDITION IS VERY GOOD.

I FOUND 3  PLACES WHERE THE OAK HAD SPLINT. NOTHING BAD AT ALL.

I SEE SOME STAIN ON THE INSIDE BOTTOM PROBABLY SPILLS FROM THE VEGETABLES IT ONCE MIGHT HAVE CARRIED.

A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE CHEROKEE BASKET. A GREAT PIECE FOR YOUR COLLECTION.

SHIPPING COULD BE MORE WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI BECAUSE OF OVERSIZE BOX.  WAIT FOR THE INVOICE BEFORE YOU PAY.....
