This wonderful original oil painting is by listed British artist Maude Goodman. It is titled "The Proposal". This painting shows a beautiful woman sitting in a chair while a well-dressed man leans over her.

The painting is signed by the artist on the lower right corner. It sits in an antique wood frame that is painted with gold. The painting measures 14" x 18" inches while the frame measures 23" x 27" inches.

This painting is in very good condition. There is a small (old) patch repair to the canvas. (see photo below) There is almost no paint loss other than a couple of tiny flakes. The wood and gesso frame has some bumps to the edges and a few small pieces missing. The black lettering on frame shows loss. Please note that there is some glare apparent in the photos below. Also, the colors appear somewhat more saturated in the photos than in the actual painting.
