This jewlery box has Japan marked on the bottom.  The music box plays a Japanese sounding song (I do not know the name).  I have the key to lock the box which does work.  There is one place on the bottom edge (which is not seen until you turn it upside down that the lacquer is missing (1/2"X1/4" and 3/4"X1/4")  The back corner also has a tiny chip in the lacquer.  The velveteen interior is in excellent condition.  It is approx. 9"X5 1/4"X5" and is 5 1/4" high.  Thanks for looking.
