In order to assist you with bidding and cone yarn selection when there are no labels inside the cone, I have created these charts from information found in my book entitled

"The Knitter's Book of Yarn" by Clara Parkes

Note:  The first chart gives you the estimate gauge needle size and amount of yarn for a plain sweater.  (Adult medium 36-38 inch chest with 4-6 inches of ease)

We have acquired Machine Knitting Yarn from a Specialized Store. The Owner has been retired for a number of years.  Some of the yarn comes from manufacturers throughout the world such as “Phoenix Dye Works”; “Dominion Yarn Corlin”; “UKI”; Dobbie Industries; J.J.P Verviers.  Some of these mills are no longer in business or have been taken over by others.

We have no knowledge of the technical aspects of yarn spinning other than the information that we found and read on the web and also the description shown inside the cone.  Where possible, we have taken pictures of the label and the colour of yarn.  

The yarns were stored in a heated and dry area in a smoke free environment.



We provide an honest and accurate description of the auction item(s).

Photographs are included to help you evaluate the condition and quality of the product(s).
