Description : Up for auction is this nice large size 19th century antique apothecary jar with an original paper label and original tin lid that has been painted white at one time. The glass is perfect with a large kicked up rough pontil. No chips or cracks in the glass and it measures 11&5/8" to the rim, 5&3/4" wide. For the record, if you hold this to the light you can see one very light and minor 2" square stain near the label area, but the jar is otherwise clear and it is not at all distracting. The line in the glass seen in the third photo is a striation in the glass where the man blowing the glass had a bit of a problem and left an extra thread of glass on the interior. It is not a crack and makes the jar much more interesting. The lid is in nice condition with some minor rust showing on the inside. Very nice jar that is increasingly hard to find being sold with No Reserve! Please Check out the photos. Insurance is now included in the cost of Shipping! We do combine multiple purchases for lower shipping costs.
