Here is great piece of ceramics to add to your Holiday dinner table. This platter, or dresser tray, measures 10 1/2" long by 6 3/4" wide and stands 1" tall to the lip. This is a transferware chintz pattern with bouquets of colorful wild flowers. The back of this is stamped Lamberton China with the crown topped shield and the capitol letter M inside. It is also stamped Property of Baltimore Hotel, Kansas City. This is crazed all over and is lightly stained on the front. There are some darker lines of staining. 98% of the gold trim around the lip is worn off. There are no chips or cracks. Good luck, Have Fun...GO NUTS!!!! This begins my seasonal run of near 100 platters. I apologize, but I have to go over some disclaimers so there are no issues once you receive the platter(s). I will not accept returns unless I have missed chips or cracks not listed in the description. You are buying platters that are NOT NEW and have been used for up to 150 years to serve food. You have to expect normal age usage like crazing, utensil marks and light staining. I will have to create most boxes to ship these but that handling fee will be included in the opening bid. I have mailed hundreds of large items so rest assured I will pack carefully. The "handling fee" on each of these auctions will be in the form of the insurance. ALL platters will be mailed with insurance. I will do my best to ship these the cheapest way possible. If you cannot see the pictures here then go to https://home.rr.com/contriques to see these and other items I have for sale. I am member of the White Ironstone Collectors Association, Inc. (WICA), the Royal Delft Collectors' Society and the New York State Art Teacher's Association (NYSATA). If there is a shipping and handling charge added to this auction, it is for insurance only, not handling. I charge actual shipping and insurance. I make no profit. I am not responsible for uninsured packages. I strive to obtain 5's on all my dsr's (detailed seller ratings). If you do not feel you can leave me a 5 then please contact me BEFORE you leave feedback so I can resolve the problem. By you leaving timely feedback and including the dsr ratings, I can continue to offer no handling fees. My high dsr ratings give me eBay listing and final auction value fee discounts, and that is what I count on so I do not have to charge a handling fee to my buyers. International bidders need to read this paragraph. Ebay's calculator has a tendency to over estimate international shipping, significantly at times. It does not have standard, non-priority mail as a shipping option on the seller's page. Be assured if you are an international buyer that I will refund any overages as there is usually a cheaper way to ship. This is always true for a package (box, peanuts & item) that weighs under 4 pounds and is no longer than 24" on any one side. Just pay the original invoice and I will refund you the difference through your original Paypal payment so you are not charged any Paypal fees. There is no insurance option for international sales unless you pay for the more expensive priority mail shipping. I do combine shipping on multiple auctions won to save you money. I list new auctions every Saturday as the current ones are ending so take a look at the new auctions to see if I have similar items of interest. I will wait on packing for up to a week. If you pay the automated invoice at the end of this auction then I will assume you are not interested and will pack and mail your item within 3 days of your payment. It's colder outside now so I suggest that if you have purchased glass or china that you do not open the box and unwrap the item(s) immediately upon arrival. If the package has come from a cold delivery truck or mail box then the rush of warm air may cause things to crack. Open the package and let the warm air in your home filter through the packing peanuts to slowly raise the temperature of your purchase(s). After a a day it should be safe to unwrap and enjoy your item(s).
At the end of October and beginning of November I will be listing my Holiday run of platters....near 100 of them!!! I have been collecting these since January and saving them for your Holiday table spreads. These will include porcelain and ironstone bodies, transferware and flow patterns in all colors (blue, black, brown, mulberry, polychrome) along with hand painted ones, small single serving ones to tree and well platters that include the pierced drainers, graduated sets, oval and rectangular shapes. Needless to say, bookmark my auctions now. I am writing my descriptions all month long so they can be listed in time for delivery and use at your Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's celebrations with family and friends. The burnt orange-framed pictures show the two booths I have in an Upstate New York antique shop called Riverbend Antique Center. I deal in what I like and enjoy, but I specialize in white ironstone, transfer ware and delft from Holland. The gold-framed pictures are miscellaneous views of other dealer spaces in the two story coop. I will be rotating the 50 pictures of the interior spaces in each auction. They depict elegant glassware, delicate linens, handcrafted quilts, European and American furniture, an amazing collection of majolica, ceiling and table lamps and lighting, stained glass, tools, and much, much more. The pictures were all taken on December 11, 2008. Stop in, browse and say hi to the proprietors Jerry and Tom if you're ever near Cortland County.
