Antique Weighing SCALES ~ Walnut Veneered/Marble/Brass

For auction ~ this handsome and totally original early Victorian SCALE set~ believed to be French, for either Pharmaceutical or Confectionary use.

I have no reserve on this item.

As you can see the striking Walnut veneered base has the black Plinth ‘skirting’ and the Satinwood ‘Stringing’ inlay to all 4 sided.

The internal workings are in their original condition, which align the 2 finger pointers within the glass viewing window ~ the Viewing window has a brass bezel and is glazed with clear glass.

The overall dimensions of the Scales are ~

14½” (37cm) overall length

6½” (16½cm) depth front to back

5” (13cm) overall height (including the bowl)

Each of the bowls measure 6½” (16½cm) in diameter

This item is in full working order and comes complete with the original bowls (although the set of weights are not included, but I am open to offers!).

I have included as many photographs to help capture each side, the front and back + elevations from different angles of the workings etc.

Please feel free to ask any questions. There is no serious damage to this item other than an inch of the inlay requires re-sticking (on the right side) and the repaired crack to the marble (which could be professionally repaired or replaced, but has never bothered me!).
