Up for auction is this vintage nautical lantern. The fine print on the bottom of the lamp reads "PATENTED / JULY 11, 1899 / SEPTEMBER 30, 1902 / SEPTEMBER 30, 1902 / DUPLEX / MILLER M'F'G CO. / PEEKSKILL N.Y. / MADE IN U.S.A." This nautical lantern is chrome. There are two cylinders 15 inches high and 2 inches in diameter. The lamp is attached to the cylinders and has three lenses - red, green and clear. I believe this lantern is gas powered as there is a small metal tube which runs up into the lamp compartment. There is a knob on the side which probably controls the brightness. In the back, there is a mounting bracket for attaching the lantern to a pole. Thanks for looking at this rare antique.

UPDATE: Several eBayers have contacted us to report this item is actually an Antique Bicycle Lantern and not a nautical lamp. I have done some additional research and believe they are correct. This item is most likely an antique kerosene powered bicycle lantern from the early 1900's. All of the other information in the description appears correct. Please refer to the photos for your own assessment. Good luck bidding!
