This rather uncommon edition is in fairly good shape. All of the pages (including the 23 illustrations) are present and tear-free. The spine is there although, as you can see from the picture, there is some damage. There is some staining in the opening pages as you can see but the actual story pages are mostly stain free and the staining that is there is along the edges. The title and edges are both gilded. It is hardback and also has a picture of Charles Dickens in the front. The book doesn't seem to have been restored, it seems to be in its original condition. All in all a sound and complete book.
