WELCOME!  I'M HAPPY TO OFFER FOR AUCTION THIS LARGE & BOLDLY BEAUTIFUL ZIMBABWE AFRICAN MASK. IT IS UNUSUAL AND STRIKING WITH IT'S COLORING VARIATIONS AND DESIGNS. THIS WAS MOST LIKELY USED IN TRIBAL RITUALS AND DANCES IN THIS TRIBE.  IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH VERY MINOR SIGNS OF AGING AND A WONDERFUL PATINA. THERE ARE NO CRACKS IN THE WOOD ANYWHERE. THERE IS VERY INTRICATE CARVING AND DECORATING OF THIS PIECE, INCLUDING THE BRONZE COLORED METAL PIECES OVER EACH EYE AND ON THE LIPS.  

MEASUREMENTS:  APPROXIMATELY 18" TALL, 12-1/2" WIDE AT ITS WIDEST POINT AND 7" DEEP. EVEN THE INSIDE OF THE MASK IS UNIQUELY CARVED AND SMOOTHED OUT.  iT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITE IN MY COLLECTION. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!  IT IS CARVED OF HEAVY WOOD.
