Description

This auction is for a rare early edition of The Bobbsey Twins at School by Laura Lee Hope published in 1926 (216 pages). This is one of the earliest hardcover editions published by Grosset & Dunlap including all four glossy illustrations: the frontispiece plus three internal plates as shown in the photos!  This copy is in very good condition: it is complete with clean off-white pages and white to off-white glossy plates, some minor foxing on a few pages, some small writing in the front in pencil, very little cover wear (a little shelf wear along edges and corners, slight dust shadow on spine), and the binding seems nice and tight! I found no folds, dogears, tears, tape repair, or creases anywhere in the book! 

It has green cloth boards stamped in black with a complete full color pictorial pastedown and blank endpapers, but no dustjacket.  This early edition is thick and has good quality paper.  The last title in the post-text ads is #19 “The Bobbsey Twins at Cloverbank”. Bunny Brown 1-14 and Honey Bunch 1-6 are also advertised post-text.
